Tuya smart lock with camera

Choose the right category by matching your door type, how you prefer to unlock, and how you want to monitor access. Consider features such as fingerprint versus 3D face recognition, the built‑in camera and video intercom, and how the lock connects to your network via the Tuya app. Also check mounting compatibility for standard doors and the expected battery life. Look for models that balance biometric security, remote viewing, and easy app control within the Tuya ecosystem.

The most complex feature is the combination of 3D face recognition with an integrated camera and video intercom. It analyzes depth cues to verify a user’s face, works in various lighting with onboard sensors, and streams live video to your smartphone through the Tuya app. Data is protected with encryption in transit and at rest, and you’ll typically manage permissions and history through the app. Performance depends on camera quality, network reliability, and proper camera placement.

For a beginner homeowner, prioritize ease of use, reliable biometric options, and straightforward remote monitoring via the Tuya app. For a tech‑savvy renter or busy household, seek flexible access methods, real‑time video calls, and strong smart‑home integration to automate routines. In both cases, a model with camera view and robust app controls will simplify surveillance and entry management, while ensuring you can grant guest access remotely.

Ensure the lock fits your door’s thickness and mounting area and follow correct installation instructions. Keep the camera lens clean, monitor battery life, and replace batteries as needed. Verify Wi‑Fi compatibility (2.4 GHz is common) and ensure the Tuya app can connect to the device, with regular firmware updates for security and performance. Regularly test unlocking methods and the intercom to maintain reliability.

Tuya models vary in unlocking methods (fingerprint, 3D face recognition, or both), camera features, and video intercom capabilities. Look for series that offer clear camera resolution, real‑time video, and smooth app control within the Tuya ecosystem. Consider build quality, color options, and compatibility with your smart‑home setup to ensure seamless integration with the Tuya app and routine automations.
