ACTIVE INGREDIENT: Dichlorometaxylenol 2.5% w/v and Terpineol 10 w/v

INTRODUCTION:

• Zylol is a brand of Dichlorometaxylenol solution BP, a relatively water-soluble substituted phenol. It’s available as external preparation for EXTERNAL USE ONLY.  Because of its low toxicity on living tissue unlike the parent Phenol, it is diluted appropriately with water and used as antiseptics for cleaning of wounds, and as disinfectant for general hygiene.
• According to a study, it take less than 30secs for Zylol to kill germs in water faster than any of the formulated chloroxylenol brands in Nigeria market.

ACTION AND USES:

• It kills bacteria by causing the leakage of intracellular materials, rupturing of cell membrane and eventual death of the bacteria due to inability of the organisms to replace the lost materials.
