Black Cohosh (Cimicifuga Racemosa) is a perennial herb with a straight, smooth stem and complex leaves growing from a fleshy rhizome. The average height of a flowering plant is about 1.5 m; in some cases, it reaches 2.5 m. The leaf blade is smooth, oval, and usually with two or three deep serrated projections (lobes). Blooming period is from June to September. The flowers are white, pubescent. The fruit is a dry leaflet 5-10 mm long, which contains eight to ten seeds in two rows.*
