BandBlade Maintenance Tips:
1.Check bearings, bandpullys and drive belts at every blade change to ensure they are able to move freely.
1.1 Spray on vegetable oil can be used to lubricate the bearings if they are not moving smoothly. 1.2 For pulleys, check for proper alignment, tension, and wear, adjust as needed, and if damaged, replace them. 1.3 Check the belts for a secure fit and for signs of wear. Then, using an air compreor, blow out all of thedust that has fallen inside the band.
2.The Break-In Period
Wear it down a bit before using a new blade. Otherwise, the consequences can be broken teeth. This can be done by reducing the speed to half of what is normal and reducing the feed quantity. Come back to normal speed ar 3~5 cuts. This will wear down the extra sharpne of the teeth, making the blade more durable.
3.Lubrication Is Key
When it comes to cutting metal with your band, lubrication is a must. No matter what type of material you are cutting, never use water as a lubricant.
4.Release Blade Tension
Blade tension must be released when not in use. This shrinking can cause tiny cracks in your blade if it is always under tension.
5.Sharpen Your Blade
To get a better cutting with your blade, it is ant to sharpen it periodically.
